The Nisos starts with a Human, a Zoltan and a Slug. Yes, the Federation C is a pretty bad ship, mainly because it has absolutely no direct boarding support. To unlock, defeat the Rebel Flagship at Sector 8 with any layout of the Engi Cruiser.

For me, this is the HARDEST ship in the whole game. Doh! When things go very well and you make it through the first few sectors, you can be golden.
